Hello! We are Kirameku Melody, a New England-based idol group formed in 2020. We are so excited to be hosting ANIMAINE's Idol Showcase again this year! While applications won’t be opening till September 1 2026 we wanted to provide the rules for the showcase in advance. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via DM on Instagram @kiramekumelody, or via email at kiramekumelodyidols@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing your applications!
Showcase Information
The Idol Showcase will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2026 at 10:30am at the ANIMAINE convention in South Portland, Maine. We ask that all performers arrive at 9:30am.
Applications will be open until 11:59 on October 18, 2026. We will also be accepting walk-ons at the end of the scheduled performances if time allows and your requested song is easily accessible on YouTube.
Applications will be reviewed and acceptances sent out on October 19, 2026.
If we have an abundance of applicants, we will create a waitlist and notify you/your group accordingly.
If we receive duplicate song entries, you/your group may be asked for a backup song to increase your chances to perform.
All performances must be from an idol franchise or group, such as (but not limited to) Love Live, Vocaloid, Ensemble Stars, Idolm@ster, Project Sekai, Umamusume, etc. K-Pop and J-pop performances are also welcome, as well as original idol/OC performances.
Please try to keep your performances under 6 minutes in length.
Participants who are 16 and under must provide a signed parent/guardian permission form in order to participate. This can be brought in person or emailed to Kirameku Melody after your acceptance. Minors who do not provide this form will not be allowed to perform.
This is a showcase and not a competition - performers will not be judged, and we encourage performers of all skill levels and experience to join! If you would like to compete, please apply to the Masquerade. These events are completely separate, so you can apply and perform in both events.
Single, duo, and group performances accepted
Application videos must be submitted for an application to be considered. This video does NOT need to be of the dance you are applying with. If you do not have one at the point of application, you have until applications close on October 18 at 11:59 PM to submit (links can be sent to our Instagram or email listed above). Videos do not need to be in costume.
Please note there is no stage available (performers will dance on the floor) and the showcase room is fully carpeted.
